Cant get sound from my lap to to my LG TV

I have read through the forums here and tried the different things and it's not working for me. I have Toshiba L455 lap top using a USB 3.0 HDMI adapter into my LG TV. I can select the HDMI 2 and get the picture from my lap top to come up but the sound is coming from my laptop. How can I get sound from my TV?

Go to the Control Panel, Sound, open Manage Audio options and select the default sound for the HMDI port.
