Can't get sound on tv

I've connected my laptop to my Samsung TV using a PC cable and it works to get the laptop screen onto the tv, but is there a way of getting the sound to work too? I would've used a HDMI cable instead, but my laptop doesn't work to use those.

see if you could use headphones output on laptop to tv pc input for sound .
