Can't get the slider to unloke the phone so that it works, please help

Unable to slide the phone to open it (unlock) to use it. Please help. Missing all of my calls/messages. I will need to buy an iphone if this is not fixed.

How 'bout you tell us what phone you have right now? That'll go a long way towards you getting any sort of answer.

Samsung. Plan Straight talk, pay as you go. I have plenty of minutes, but can not get the phones buttons to open it or let me make calls or check messages. It seems like the lower numbers on the bottom do not respond. I guess the slider button is on that same level and will not open the phone for calls/messages

Ahh, yeah, that's an older phone, and the touch screen isn't that responsive.

I'd try to drag the slider as firmly and accurately as possible, pushing down more than you think you have to.

If that fails, turn the phone off and turn it back on.
