Question Can't hear myself through headphones though my microphone records fine

I have a strange issue that I can solve. I tried everything and nothing has worked. I have a microphone and headphones hooked up to my laptop in separate jacks but i can't hear myself when I record in any program. I even tried a headphpne with microphone on the same jack and same thing, I can record my voice, but I can't hear my voice. I can hear all other audio fine. Certainly is hard to record voice when you can't hear yourself. Any help will be a life saver!

firstly, check the microphone if it is not muted or set to a minimum. you can do it by following these steps-
Go to taskbar>right click on the speaker icon and choose the 'Recording device'. Choose the microphone ( you are using) and tap on the properties.

Thanks. Unfortunately, that's not the problem as I can record my voice just fine through the microphone. I just can't hear myself on the headphone when I'm recording.
