Can't Log on to my Dell 1545

Hi guys,

I tried logging on to my Dell 1545 (windows vista home premium) laptop and all I get is the message:

User profile failed to log on.

The username and password are accepted. I know this because as soon as I enter the password the welcome message appears but suddenly changes to the failure message.

Can anybody advise me how I can fix the issue without having to wipe my laptop clean as I have a lot of important files on there that I failed to back up.

I tried taking the battery out and restarting it and when that failed I tried letting the battery run down and restarted.

Try to log in from safe mode

during boot press either f5,f8 or f12 depends on your laptop.it will give u an option to start in safe mode.

It worked perfectly and I was able to reset the laptop to settings saved last week so didn't lose anything important
