Can't reformat toshiba satellite l355 laptop it goes to black at 7% of installation

Trying to reformat hard drive but the installation fails at 7%. It use to restart after the mouse would come on..now it stay in a no srceen blank page..toshiba l355

Try using a different installation media. It may also be a bad hard drive, try another one and see if that works better.
