Car adapter for laptop might be failing?

I have an adapter to plug my laptop charging cable in to the cigarette lighter port in a vehicle. It stays charging during normal use but when I run some games the laptop stops charging and runs off battery which results in getting a fraction of the performance on my laptop.

I figure it's tripping some internal breaker in the adapter or something. Is that what is happening? If so can anyone recommend a car adapter that can handle the load my laptop needs?

Thanks

Nobody can help you without knowing what laptop and adapter you currently have.

The laptop adapter shutting down due to overload while gaming sounds plausible, especially if you got an unofficial generic adapter. Your easiest fix would be to get a 150W inverter and plug the original AC adapter into that.
