Carnt connect soundbar to tv

Hi i am having problems connecting my philips sound bar to my philips smart tv i have tried wot its says in the booklet i have tried the hdmi arc it doesnt recognise it and on Bluetooth there is no sound but says it is connected I am a bit puzzled by this
