Cassette players

i recently brought my old marantz stereo system out of storage
i have a 2270, and a jvc cassette player
my problem is i can't remember how to connect the the two
i tried but can't copy to the cassette
can you all please help me

patch cords between tape output and cassette input
patch cords between tape input and cassette output...
use the "tape monitor" switches on the amp.
