CATIA laptop studying

At home I have a PC, the PC is a desktop with a 2500k (overclocked) and 2x5850 in crossfire.

Now for this study im going to do at the Technical university of Delft I need a laptop. Only in the second semester you design some things using CATIA.

The university has a Laptop project which allows you to buy an HP 8570W with an nvidia k1000M and i7 3630 and full HD screen for 1000 euros. Which is good for CATIA as its a workstation GPU. But I think the laptop looks awful, is heavy and makes a lot of noise.

So I've got to come up with another laptop. As there was a nice offer on the Surface RT I bought one as a long-battery-lifedevice could come pretty handy.

But now I need another laptop. I saw the Toshiba Satellite P50-A-12 which i can buy or 900 euros. I'll also buy a 120gb SSD for it.

But what do you think I need to do?

I know about the existance of this laptop and I know its well built, but one con... It's too expensive. If I'd have to get it shipped to the netherlands I would have to pay many fees which will make the price from dollars to euros.

Budget: approx 1100 euros (dollars)
resolution: 1080p
Brands: I don't really have a specific choice for one, but I saw the Asus N550 (with/without touchscreen)
What devices do I have: High end game PC (2012), Microsoft Surface RT

you are looking at non workstation notebook (Asus N550) , if you want normal Nvidia GT750M there are many options. but I understood you wanted a workstation notebook ...

check the Lenovo Y510P it has full HD monitor and 750M graphics , and is well built. they ahve an SLI version with 2x 750 in SLI that you can Remove when you want to save battery life . and comes with new Haswell CPU

the good thing about Haswell is the 50% more battery life .. and when you want power in this notebook use 2x GT750M

Thank you for your reply. I've also looked into that laptop but the battery is a major drawback imo. Only 3 hours on a battery while browsing the web using wifi. Another con compared to the asus n550 is the CPU, the cpu is a i7 4702qm which is clocked lower than the 4700hq. Also the laptop is not really for gaming as I have a PC at home to do that. The pc will be used like every day for school and rarely to use Catia to design and render some stuff. The drawback for the HP 8570 is that its so big and ugly.

But what would you recommend me to get.
The ugly 8570 with not so good k1000m and not so well TN screen, or another laptop like the asus n550 with ips? or maybe an ultrabook and do the rendering at the PC at home. Or maybe no laptop?
