How do you tie the Samsung Smart TV and Yamaha AV receiver 5.1 speaker system into the cable remote?

Well ANY kind of programmable UNIVERSAL REMOTE.

If your cable remote doesn't have av receiver as a device you cannot. If the TV remote has pre-programmed codes it might work for the cable box and receiver.
Otherwise as above a universal remote such as the Logitech Harmony or URC remotes.
