changing graphics card on MSI GS63VR Strealth Pro

hello,

I recently got a msi stealth pro computer, and was hoping to get a new graphic card to run new games smoother. I'm unsure about the major details as I am a computer novice. any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

That laptop ships with a GTX 1060.

There's a variant that has a 1070 too, whichi would be the "best" card you could populate it with.
Economically though, that makes zero sense IMO. Finding a compatible form-factor 1070 will be extortionate.... and gains on the 1080p display would be ridiculously disproportionate to the cost.

Is this new, bought retail? If so, return it and pick up the variant with the 1070. Easy and substaintally cheaper .

There is no way to switch out the GPU mounted on the motherboard. See the dissassembly video:

But the nice thing about the MSI GS53VR is that it has a thunderbolt3(TB3) port. I've test my GS63VR with the Akitio Node TB3 E-GPU enclosure. See:

I put my desktop GTX1070 in the enclosure and then connected it to the GS63VR and amazingly it all works and the benchmarks scores will show it too. Obviously you can go max it out with a GTX1080ti too. The only caveat is that the TB3 link imposes about a 20% performance penalty.
