Charging problem on my ASUS laptop

I bought my ASUS K55A laptop about 2 months ago and only used it about 4 times so far. I was charging my laptop and I noticed that it stays at 0% and does not go further than that. I tried charging it when its turned off for a while and it still doesn't turn on. The instant I pull the AC plug from my laptop it turns off. Can anyone help me with this problem? Thanks.

With the battery in and plugged into the wall, does the charging LED indicate that it is charging? You might have a bad battery. Try this and see if it works:

Take out the battery and plug in the laptop to the AC charger.
Turn the laptop on and let everything load up.
Turn off the laptop and remove the charger. Put the batter back in and see if it will start up with the battery.

It would be one thing if Windows or the controller was incorrectly reporting charge level, but it sounds like your battery is not receiving a charge whatsoever. There could be something wrong with the circuit; in which case, you would need to send it in to Asus for servicing.

You can also try a EC reset: remove the battery AND power supply cable -> press and hold the power button for 4- 5 seconds - leave laptop as is for 2 - 3 minutes, then reconnect both your battery and power supply cable and see if it charges.
