Hi !
My friend is looking for new laptop, mainly focused on gaming. We stumbled upon this lapton: HP 15-r280no 15.6". (http://support.hp.com/fi-fi/document/c04549119) The question is, is this laptop any good for gaming? If not, could you recommend some laptops under 800€?

Thank you !

That is a good laptop if you stick with med settings in the games that you have mentioned but remember that it is not designed for intense gaming. Make sure that you check the temps every time you play games to make sure that the laptop is healthy.

Hi !

I found new one! It has i7-4510U CPU, Geforce 840m and 8gb of RAM.

Yeah, will stick to medium settings. What should I do if the temperatures were to rise ?

First check for dust, either send it back to the manufacturer if it is in warranty or clean it your self.
Second make sure that the laptop doesn't have too many background processes as this is a common cause.
Third make sure that the fans works.
Fourth make sure that the installed programs are the ones that you need
Fifth run virus scans to make sure it is not one of them that is causing it

Hey, one last question.

I found one last computer (HP pavilion as well) and it has the same CPU and GPU. It has 12 GB of Ram Instead of 8 , but it has lower screen resolution of 1366x768 instead of 1920x1080. Is the 4 GBs of RAM worth the screen resolution reduction?

They have the same price: 720 €
