Hello,
Am having a difficult time fixing a Toshiba satellite C50-A099. It shows checking media.. No bootable device. This is not a HDD issue as I have changed several other HDDs which I have tested on other pcs and work well. I also have tried bootable discs/USB bootable drives containing Windows 8,10, and Ubuntu gnome after fn+f12 which gives access to boot from the devices and after choosing either of the above it still would take to "checking media and no boot device. Note I have read through so many articles on this forum but none seems to solve the problem. I will be glad if there is a solution for it. Thanks

Yes. Once you select a boot device it still takes you to checking media.. No bootable device

It could be an error in the BIOS, and I would check that first. Also, if it isn't that I would be leaning toward having the replace the motherboard.

I would first go to Toshiba's support site and see if there is an update to the BIOS for your computer. If there is, they should have it.
