My personal feelings on this matter aside, I find China's ability to systemically control the flow of information and capital among its 1.3 billion population to be one of the greatest undertakings by humans of our time, especially if one considers that there are more than 50 nationalities within the country.

comon gimme a break CHINA!! Now i gotta wait for a few more months to get "new releases" from J.T. well they need more time to translate and filter J.T's songs 🙁

Seriously though, way to go PRC government!!!

Just what the world needs right now is a way to ramp up the black market, but I expected nothing less from a country who's "little red book" is just a literal translation of George Orwells 1984. Even the name "Chinese Ministry of Culture" is just another way of saying "Ministry Of Truth".

Newspeak, anyone? George Orwell once wrote "I said earlier that the decadence of our language is probably curable. Those who deny this would argue, if they produced an argument at all, that language merely reflects existing social conditions, and that we cannot influence its development by any direct tinkering with words or constructions."

Obviously the Chinese Government thinks it's language is curable and is tinkering with the words in order to control social conditions.

So I pick my words very carefully for all those in the Chinese Government...

Get a fucking grip

[citation][nom]tank[/nom]I don't think its fare to compare a communist/socialist style government to a capitalistic style of government. The government is taking control more and more in china. I think morals are taught from the home and not from the government.[/citation]
Are you kidding me? This is exactly my point. Morals are SUPPOSED to be taught from home. BUT THEY AREN'T. Maybe they used to be but now every teen in America thinks those morals are a load of shit. People need to be taught a lesson, IMHO.

I don't think you even know what "morals" mean.

As a counter argument, I think that anyone who believes in the moral police should be Euthanized.

OK, lets see... kill people like me because you don't think my view on morals (I most certainly know what morals are - yours might be in question though) are correct? I think we all know who needs to be taught a lesson on morals. Get a life.

[citation][nom]nforce4max[/nom]I bet that the DeemoCrats will at some point try the same stunt here in the US because some song hurts some one's little feelings.[/citation]

dude, its the religious right that writes to the FCC every week complaining about SouthPark Family Guy, Howard Stern and Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction.

Freedom of speech is one of the best rights we have in America. It's a shame to see people go through what the people of China go through. People should be able to say and listen to whatever they want.

Though I feel the FCC is harpooning our rights slightly. I don't think some government agency 'knows best' when it comes to what we say and hear.

It's freedom of speech, not freedom of speech*.

Wake up china and smell the coffee:

Read the bible(IRONIC): whence people will have foul mouth and that when we will be slave of our own sexuality : THE APOCALYPSE IS NEAR so just go with it...

It's already too late thanks to capitalism

Industrialized world to China: GET OVER YOURSELVES!

A-holes in the Chinese government want to enjoy all of the benefits and prosperity that comes with capitalism and open trade with the Americas and with Europe, well, that comes with some trades-offs. Stop trying to keep your people in the 1800s and just deal with it already.

Below is a quote from the song "Third Eye" by Tool, a band that will no longer be heard in China apparently.

Think for yourself
Question authority

Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities, the political, the religious, the educational authorities who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing, forming in our minds their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself.

Think for yourself.
Question authority.

[citation][nom]Cletus_slackjawd[/nom] Maybe they have seen the inner urban cities in the US with the gangs, crime, graffite, etc. and don't want their youth emulating that crap. I don't blame them personally. Nothing good can come from it.[/citation]

You got it all wrong. Chinese Communist Party is the biggest gang in human history.

Not just gangster rap use curse words. Sometimes it's better to use curse words, plain and simple, such as DOPE's "Die MF Die." The message of that song is simple and clear, and Chinese Communist Party certainly fit into that category of MF.

That's annoying, but not as dangerous as fairness doctrine.
