Great, what are they gonna do go around the game giving change to homeless people? Try to get vehicles to appear by prayers? Spray bad guys with holy water instead of Uziz? Yeah good luck.

I have a feeling besides this being just plain stupid that the owners of this site liked bashing the guy..

While it is an idiotic thing to try to make a christian GTA since GTA is about everything but the ten commandments, this guy really doesnt deserve to be on here just for laughs. (which i feel he's going to get seriously bashed on this, most likely just because he has a religion)

If you put this article on the site for another perpose, i am sorry for "jumping to conclusions" but really, if this was just for "funny laughs at the *stupid* christian d00d" then i could have done without it, i got enough racist people to listen to without this being on a tech website..

Again i apologize if i am wrong but it is just sad to know that this guy is going to be ridiculed (and he will be i assure you on here, for what reason i dont know) just becuase he thinks differently than the "average" joe.

"and one of the major problems was that people are often distracted from the fun of the game by the content." Now how'd one have fun playing a game, if the content distracts from it? You can't! So how'd they create a good game without content? The time of Pong are gone. People want content in their entertainment.

They need to make a Christian version of the sims and spore (if current versions are not to be considered Christian models, you know what I'm talking about), with heaven and hell, punishments from above for improper behaviour and a praise the lord bar in the status, above the personal needs of the sim.
:(
^^ is not a typo... :(

The one you are jumping the gun. How can we and trust me I would make fun of a guy who basically says he has no idea how they could turn gta into that type of game and still have it be fun.

The only Christian or w/e else bother me are the ones that try to push their bs relegion on others. I don't get that from this article *i don't know wtf this guy is so I have no bias against him either* and see no problem with them trying to turn games into something that suits them better. And actually I say good luck to them; you never know there are some pretty creative people out there and they just might get it to work.

Reminds me of Christian Death Metal bands... "Grinding for Christ"... It just doesn't make sense.

Are you kidding me? You could make some great games about being a Christian and doing God's work. Look at the Crusades! Think of all the wars and conflicts waged against "heathens" in the name of God. I'm surprised no one has tapped into this market.

Dude... there were some great "death metal" Christian bands. As heavy and as loud as the "bad" bands.

This is the problem with Christianity today (and i'm Christian so I know). Christianity is not about copying other people and watering it down. This is why church attendance is at an all time low. When you tell people that they have to dress up, read the Bible, or even participate, and instead you get them comfy couches and book a "Christian Band".... well of course people will leave the church. What's the point? If you wanted to go to a concert, you would GO TO A CONCERT, NOT CHURCH.

Now, tie that in the topic. If you want to play GTA, you'll.... PLAY GTA, not a watered-down, Christ-Friendly version. This is very stupid. Making a Christian version of GTA (if done by the book) would make it NOT GTA. Do you see what I mean? Why make a Christian GTA? Just make a Christian game that is nothing like GTA, because if it is like GTA then it's not Christian.

This is so stupid. Guys like this, who do have good hearts, are really embarrassing to us Christians who have working brains.

The Church is supposed to lead, not follow. Do not be conformed by the patterns of the world. This guy needs to go back and read his Bible.

^^Ohh I forgot to add that this is a problem for the christian music industry too, almost all the bands are watered down copies of secular bands. It's very hard to find an original christian band.

I whole-heartedly agree. This is what i call missing the mark. Your enthusiasm to add Christ to something blinds your reasoning. And sometimes you add Christ to something that contradicts his whole purpose.

With music, i remember when I thought POD was cool. But as it turns out, when you Christian base a band on copying secular bands you will turn into... a secular band (big surprise).

Sorry to keep on ranting about this but it unnerves me so much. I mean seriously, what's next???

This just in, Christian movie director discusses the possibility of Christian Porn!

-So you want to make a family friendly version of porn?

-Yes, due to porn's popularity, I believe that we can make a Christian version that would still be just as popular. The only obstacle, is the actual content.

Amen brother.

...anyway I think the point was the 'open world' concept that GTA has. You know like...maybe a game about street evangelism or something. Run around a whole city and see how many you can bring to Jesus; I'd play that. :)

I find the whole argument rather abstract. It's really not the place of the article writer to be spouting off about the way the games are created or the concepts that in place in the game. If you don't like it, dont play it. If you don't want your children to play the game DONT LET THEM PLAY it. Why is that the majority of parents can not take responsibility for their children?? Why should the game industry be responsible for parenting societies children? We have a rating system that makes it "idiotproof" If the game is rated teen, its suitable for teenagers above the age of 13. If you believe that you 10 year old is mature enough to handle the subject matter, then its your choice if your going to buy the game. We don't any more restrictions than this. I'm not a religious man, but I'm not here to take shots at anyone. I certainly don't want anyone invading my personal preferences. I believe that I'm entitled to that. As a human. Before everything else We all have this is common. No matter what you believe we are all human.. Most of us at least. Excluding those asshats that cheat in tf2.

I dunno, its not that absurd, to think that a open world game could be fun w/o crime and murder. I remember in the early Dreamcast days enjoying Shenmue, whose main character was almost irrationally innocent and good. There were fights in the game, but... also a lot of other ideas for content, like fork truck races, and even feeding a baby kitten. A "Christian GTA" game would just need very creative developers, and would be best directed to a younger audience.
