There is not really a market for apps on your TV anymore...

Reasons:
1. Sony Playstation - This is my alternative to paying for cable.
2. Laptops - This is my second alternative to paying for cable. Most laptops today have HDMI out ports so all you need is a wireless keyboard and mouse with good range and done... HD streaming with tons of possibilities and no cable bill, Hulu, Netflix, DVD's and even computers games
4. X-Box 360 - I don't have on but it offer's similar services
5. Roku and other streaming devices already released
6. TVs with apps built in

I really don't believe anyone is going to get excited about this...

It would be great if they could figure out how to minimize the delay between devices. Then maybe Steam could integrate a chromecast option, so you could play games, without having to connect your pc directly into the TV.
