clean install on used 2010 apple mac necessary?

I bought a 6 year old apple mac from 2010 from a college student that just never really used it for anything but movie watching. It looks like new. Do I need to do a clean install?

I wouldnt do it. It is 6 years old.
He/She only used it for movie watching so its not necessary
