Hello,

I am looking to purchase a budge pair of in ear headphones with ANC, I am specifically upgrading from a Belkin pair of headphones because I want the ANC technology. I mainly want to block out background conversations people talking. From my research I think the CMF buds 2 plus looks best, as they are the same price as the CMF buds pro 2 which are better for my use case. I am also considering the CMF buds 2 but from reviews and research I don't think these are as good at blocking out conversations as the CMF buds 2 plus.
The CMF buds 2 plus are currently only available to purchase via the Nothing website and they are showing out of stock, so I would have to wait before purchasing them but that should be fine.
Thank you for your help.

Generally budget ANC isn’t really worth having and you’re just degrading the quality of the earphones themselves in terms of sound quality, battery and the overall functionality

The reviews of the CMF buds 2 plus said that the ANC worked well, in your opinion do you think the budget ANC would make much difference in comparison to the Belkin headphones (they block out a bit of noise but not much).
I have never used any of the CMF or Nothing products before but the reviews looked good, do you have any experience with them or not, I don't mind if you don't but it would be interesting to hear the thoughts of someone who uses them?

“Good for budget” doesn’t mean good. Im guessing they do alright at low frequencies, drop off around the vocal frequencies and then pick up again at higher frequencies where the seal does the heavy lifting.

EDIT:

Checked and I was bang on.

Thank you, do you think they would do a better job than my current pair of headphones or not?
You’d have to look at the sound profile of both and see which you like best which is the best for you from an audio perspective. For passive isolation you just need a good seal from the bud and it will block a surprising amount of noise, it just doesn’t do that well blocking out low frequency noises like engine noises.

I will say if you’re moving from headphones to IEM/earbud with a silicone tip you will get better isolation anyway. If you’re ok with using a wire you can get some amazing chifi IEMs for cheap.

Thank you, I think I will still get the CMF buds 2 plus as my current Belkin headphones don't seal that well, they never have done that much but I didn't really mind when I first got them as I just used them round the house. But I want to start using them on my commute so want something with better noise cancellation, the CMF buds 2 plus seem to be the best as some people report that the CMF buds pro 2 have some problems with the bass.
