I was about the mention the same thing. I think it was all a big hoax by the family to get more airtime and "fame". They've been on Wifeswap not just once, but twice now and the father is always trying to make a big name for himself in the media.

The family should end up being forced to pay monetary damages for this fiasco. Considering all of the money and resources expended on emergency services just trying to find this kid, who was hiding in the attic and listening to his "parents" call for him. Wasting everyone's time which could have been better used for real emergencies.

You actually hear a very audible "SIGH" from dad when the kid is being interviewed and starts talking about it all being for a show.

Something very fish with all of this, for sure.

You know how the old saying goes, "Like attention whore father, like attention whore son..."

As a side note, E! probably used the most hyperbolic version possible but if this guy is really out there "trying to prove theories on magnetism and gravity" he was born about 200 years too late for empirical research to be done in a garage.

This is the biggest hoax and such a poor desperate cry for publicity to get on tv and try to make money. These parents the ( Heene's ) should be locked up and have charges brought up against them, have the kids taken away, be evaluated by a shrink, & have to payy back all the money the state had to put out for the time and man power wasted. This makes me sick to my stomach watching this joke of a mom and dad exploit their kids to try and get on tv and make money. If anyone watched the interviews on tv, it looks so so fake and like they acted this out and planned it. Why would the father call the tv stations and the news before he even calls the cops. These people are sick in the head. They previously appeared on two reality shows,Wife swap, and have their own You Tube station. They were so quick to set up any TV interviews that called them like American Morning. If this had really happened, you would protect your family and son and give it at least a couple days before talking to anyone. They are craving the attention and exploiting the poor kids just too try and fufill some kind of sick fantasy they have of being famous. This sheriff in charge of this case should really get his act together and get all the pieces of the puzzle put together. If he can't see this was faked and just a sick cry for attention, than I feel really bad for the town he is in charge of. I do however have faith in the system and from what the county sheriff ( JIM )said he was going to do by interviewing and looking into it again, that they will be busted and brought to justice. If you watch the video of it taking off, it barley can support it's own weight when it trys to float off. It could never hold a kid his size in it, not even a little dog. It would rip apart and it would never take off. That is just the proof from watching it. Now if you watch the reactions and comments from the kids and family, you will see how fake it really is. The kid previously trys to set the tone in the beginning that he is going to climb in it. Then gets out and it takes off with his brother screaming he is in their and then the ( SICK IN THE HEAD FATHER RICHARD HEENE )trys to make some weak attempt to stop it by doing some kind of little kick..???? It is so fake!! and makes no sense!! and is taking this way to far to try and get on tv. He should have to pay thousands in fines to set his retarded brain straight and make him understand you can't waste police officers, emergency personell, and medias time with these sick little ideas to try and become famous. I bet they are just laughing away watching the little you tubue hits they are getting now. I just sure hope justice gets served and they are charged and the kids are taken away. AND IF THIS DOESN'T CONVICE YOU!! WATCH THE LITTLE KID ON THE INTERVIEW THE NEXT DAY AFTER IT HAPPENED ADMIT THAT IT WAS A SHOW BY AXIDENT.
