Compaq cq60 white screen and other issues

So I am almost positive this is a motherboard issue but not sure if there is more troubleshooting I can try. Turned on the computer and once windows booted it went to a white screen. I could hit control alt delete which would bring me to the vista page for all of the options like task manager restart etc.. When I tried using task manager it would bring me back to a white screen. Next thing I tried was booting into safe mode. When it got to the point of the windows username screen for safe mode it would blue screen and shut off. Then I tried running memtest 86 and it ran for a while but the computer randomly shut off before a full pass. Then I tried hooking up an external monitor and the computer would blue screen and shut off before getting into windows. I tried putting in a vista disc to see if I could repair windows and the computer shut down before it got to the windows options.

Anything else I can try here?

It's your display adapter. This unit appears to have an NVidia chip; that is your culprit. What I don't know is whether this uses an MXM slot or if it's proprietary, but either way, a replacement card would be expensive, IF it's replaceable.
