okay i have three questions... I got this information from two separate sites so I apologize if something seems to be missing.

1. What is IPS display? For example, would a laptop with LED Full HD IPS Display (1920 x 1080) be the same as another laptop WITHOUT IPS with LED Full HD Display (1920 x 1080)? I know it might be a dumb question but I just want to make sure before I buy a laptop.

2. Which one is better?

Laptop 1:
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE (2GB) Hybrid Graphics with Intel Wireless Display Technology

or

Laptop 2:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M with 2GB Dedicated Memory

If it wasn't for the Hybrid Graphics with Intel Wireless Display Technology, I would of guessed the second one but because the first laptop has it, I got confused.

3. Which one is better?

Laptop 1:
3rd gen. Intel Core™ i7-3632QM (2.20GHz / 3.20GHz with Turbo Boost), I think it's Quad Core

or

Laptop 2: Intel Core i7-3630QM Quad Core 2.4 GHz 6MB cache

Once again the Turbo Boost confused me. Usually the second processor would of been better...

Thanks for answering!

IPS is a screen technology: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC0QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FIPS_panel&ei=cMGzUbGDBuni4APMkIDABw&usg=AFQjCNG1oKCu-oQ8y7jxgWrAf40n8YQW-w&sig2=OtiXt_zn10uBWsdoNIBmUw&bvm=bv.47534661,d.dmg

As for your 2nd question, i would go with laptop #2 as it has a better GPU and a better CPU. Of note the 3630QM is 2.4 with 3.4 turbo, i looked up the specs. All in all the 2nd system sounds better with or without the IPS screen.

What alien said, although if your feeling lazy a summary of IPS

Its a screen technology that results in truer colour representaion, good quality ones can show millions more colours than an non IPS screen.
It comes at a cost of slow reaction time, for example causing delay with what you see on the screen i.e your mouse pointer is actually 2 mm further ahead of what you see as you move your cursor across the screen. A massive exageration with distance, but its noteworthy as Good quality IPS screens have no trouble (look for response time 1-7ms is acceptable for gaming but most IPS are 5-7) 8-15 is the limit on movies
A bad quality screen more than 15ms isnt worth having for accurately displaying a moving image.

The main selling point to a good quality IPS screen is it has a larger viewing angle up to something ridiculous like 160 degree arc, meaning you can almost stand side on and accurately see whats on screen. If your working confidential data or just like your privacy using a laptop on a train etc, Then it wont be a good choice for you.

On the other hand if you want bright vibrant movies or games you can watch lying down then its a great idea.
