I am currently looking at a Lenovo Z51 with these specifications: Processor: 5th Generation Intel Core i7-5500U Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 4MB) Operating system: Windows 8.1 64 Display: 15.6" FHD LED Anti-Glare (1920x1080) Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M375 2GB Memory: 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L 1600 MHz Hard Drive: Hybrid 1TB 5400 RPM+8GB SSHD Optical Drive: DVD Recordable.
I am also looking at an HP Envy 15t with the following specifications: 15.6-inch diagonal Full HD WLED-backlit Display (1920x1080), Intel 802.11ac WLAN and Bluetooth(R) [1x1], 1TB 5400 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive, SuperMulti DVD burner, Backlit Keyboard, HP TrueVision HD Webcam with Dual Digital Microphone, Fingerprint Reader, 3-cell 55.5WHr Lithium-ion Battery, HP Laptop, Security Software Trial, 5th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U Dual Core Processor + NVIDIA GeForce 940M 2GB Discrete Graphics, Windows 8.1 64, No Additional Office Software, HP ENVY - 15t Laptop, and 8GB DDR3L - 1 DIMM.
I feel more comfortable with HP because I have dealt with there technical support before and it was great. The reason I have not bought the HP yet is because it is $150 more then the Lenovo ($699). I need thus laptop to be durable, as I need it to last the next five years for school. I am a little concerned about the Lenovo as I saw in a LaptopMag article that Lenovo's touchpads and keyboards are not very durable on their new models. I also need help to decide by the end of the night so I can beat HP's shipping deadline to get it here by when I need it. Thanks.
