Compatible EQ for RXV 870

Please someone advise me what is the ideal equalizer for Yamaha RXV 870 receiver

There are no connections of that receiver that you could use with any EQ. That would require preamp out and amp inputs, or a tape monitor/processor loop.
You could connect your sources to the EQ directly and the EQ to one of the inputs of the receiver. That would be for external analog sources only,
You could use a speaker to line level converter to provide an input for an EQ but you would also need a power amp to drive the speakers you want to EQ.
