I have no idea where to start looking for a decent non wal-mart headset. I just want a comfortable music/gaming headset with a mic. USB plug and play preferably..
I need to be able to hear the kids in the other rooms, but I'm also looking for some immersion. Lastly (and probably the hardest part) it needs to be cat and toddler proof.

Solution
I would recommend the Corsair Vengeance 2100 or H2100 (same thing), the Steelseries Siberia V3 or V3 Prism, or Sennheiser PC 320, another good headset is the Plantronics Gamecom 788. There are not many open ear headsets out there, the only one in this list is the Sennheiser PC 320 which is about $130 CAD depending about where you buy from. The others should be fine for hearing your kids but not as much as the Sennheiser. They are all durable (im doubting the Plantronics one though) and have good mics and good sound.

Hope this helps!

Canada, $120-150 CAD is my super max budget. Mainly I just dont want to talk and people hear me as static or buzzing. I also want it USB if possible. Unless it affects quality.
