Tried to upgrade my gpu from a gtx 970 to a gtx 1660 ti on a biostar H77mu3 motherboard. 1660 won't display at all. Need help. Why won't it post at all?

Did you connect the power supply to your new card?

Did you connect the video cable into the new card and not the motherboard itself?
and is it HDMI or DP or DVI?

Which monitor are you using and do you use an adapter like DVI to VGA?

BIOS of your motherboard is up to date? Or which version is it?
Which hardware revision is it made of?

Which CPU are you using?

Did you plug this new card into the upper black PCIe port and not the red one?

I have checked your general checks but how these points help us to upgrade to GPU?

little explanation:
this motherboard has connections for the monitor as well, which might be disabled in BIOS and therfore only the GPU would display an image
a VGA connection is not supported by your new GPU, it only has digital outputs
a 2nd gen CPU has only PCIe2.0 and could be incompatible with your PCIe3.0 GPU
an older BIOS version of the motherboard could be incompatible to newer hardware
only the black PCIe is recommended if using a one graphics card
without the proper power connection, it might not post


another thing to try:
reset the BIOS of the motherboard by jumper

Usually, if you plug a dedicated Card in, ity will automatically disable the Onboard / Integrated graphics. You are correct in pointing out the the VGA Connection on the MOBO, maybe DVI as well. If you have a dedicated card installed and plugging into a connector on the Motherboard and not the Card, you aren't going to get much for sure.
