Computer screen crashed but laptop working

Hello,
Its a acer laptop - 2 years old - about a yr ago i dropped it and replaced the screen no probs since. Just went to move the screen into position to use it and half the screen seems to have crashed - its lines of color or when i have restarted it the 'crashed area' is a black color. Any ideas????

The data cable (ribbon-type) between the bottom half and the screen half may have failed on you. Either was not plugged in properly and in time it got partially disconnected, or it may have cracked.
I would say time to pay another visit to the repair shop to get it fixed. It may require another LCD change.

Maybe a screen failure or it could be the ribbon cable. I'm leaning toward a bad screen. How is it with an external monitor?
