Computer Sound system

Hi forums, I am looking to buy a sound system for my computer with a budget of 800$. Whats the most kickass one I can buy ?

generally i would say some nice home theater speakers and a receiver.

is that $800usd and you live in the usa or do you live abroad?

if in the usa you might want to look at the energy take 5.1 classic ($300-350) paired up with a fair receiver ($200-250 which would put you at the $500-600 price point plus some extras like speaker wire, connectors, wall plates and all that can push you to another $100.

of course there are other speaker sets you can buy (you could even go seperates and not get a matched set) but the energys are respected for the price.

I live in the US and that is $800 usd. I don't have place to mount stuff on the wall because the computer desk is in front of a window.

what do you have for a soundcard?

well for about $600ish one of the better systems are the energy take's i listed. they also arent super huge in size so should be doable for a desk.
