Computer to Computer Streaming

So I am planning to build an entertainment PC with old parts in my living room and I was wondering if its possible if I can use some sort of Remote Desktop or VPN to connect to my gaming computer up stairs and stream it to the computer in the living room. The thing about Windows remote desktop is that it isn't realtime-ish. I already set up an entire network in my house, all gigabyte lan switches and cat 5/cat 6 network cabling. I want to be able to play games from my gaming computer to my entertainment pc without lag, if possible.

My system specs for the living room:
CPU: Core 2 Duo 6400 @2.13ghz
MOBO: MSI G31TM-P21
MEM: 4gb Patriot Gaming Series @800mhz
GRAPHICS: EVGA Nvidia 550 ti
PSU: 350 Watt (Not the ideal choice, bu only psu i have)
HDD: 300gb
