Asus should be more reliable. What is better depends on exact specs, what CPU and video card are on those models?

Between the two, the Asus, BUT the U-series i7's are only a 2-core, low-power CPU.

What you'd really want is the "HQ" 4-core laptop CPUs in a machine for that purpose, with a discrete graphics card.
