I want to buy a laptop. The laptop I have chosen has 3 usb ports and only one HDMI port. I prefer to connect HDMI to my TV to view videos. I also want to connect laptop to (which has no vga port) to an external vga monitor. what is the solution?

I don't know if this converter even exists but you would be looking for a cable with a DSub male (with pins) at one end and a male HDMI at the other. To have the HDMI using the laptop and keep the HDMI cable to the TV, you'd need an HDMI splitter. It's more likely to require you swapping leads every time you wanted to.
