Connect sony laptop to sony tv

Hello, I tried to connect my sony vaio VGN-CR35G to my sony bravia EX5 using VGA/SVGA cable. and then press fn F7. My tv's worked but no sound and my laptop screen became black and no sound as well.Anyone can help me please

Hello usag1;

That's because there is no audio passed over VGA/SGA, S-Video or DVI cables.
Only HDMI carries video and audio on the same cable.

You can try pressing F7 (or maybe its Fn+F7) several times and it should cycle through all the different video modes till you have both the TV and LCD working.

You NEED to connect some AUDIO leads between your lappy and TV as well...then you will have sound....
