Connect speakers to monitor, not computer?

I have an Xbox and a pc going through the same monitor. I have a speaker system with a subwoofer that can connect to my pc, but I also want it to connect to my xbox. Only way I can think of doing this is connecting my speakers to my monitor so sound comes out of that regardless. If it helps my monitor is Viewsonic VX2452MH. Thank you

If you use the HDMI connection for the Xbox and the DVI + audio input for the PC you can use the audio output jack from the monitor to connect the speakers.
