Connect speakers to Pioneer Plasma TV PDP 507XD

I have a Pioneer PDP 507XD plasma tv that was originally connected to a yamaha soundbar. we have given the TV to our son who doesn't have a soundbar . it seems the only option is to buy the Pioneer soundbar that mounts underneath the TV. But, this costs about £150. we are looking for a cheaper solution. The TV doesnt have RCA plugs.
Can anyone suggest a cheaper speaker alternative that would be in the range of £75 or so?

This picture

on Pioneer's website shows speaker terminals on the TV. It looks like the TV can drive a pair of standard speakers.
That TV also has an optical audio out. Any sound bar with an optical input should work.
