I have a home theater system which is not support latest video/audio formats. So I hope to connect the audio output of a new dvdplayer to the audio inlet of existing home theater system. Is it possible or will work?
Hello... you will only get 'stereo sound" output from the two "RCA" analog connectors... if your want "Multi channel" to your receiver you need to connect with 'Digital" does that help? B /
your DVD player will play what ever you place in it... it will not care or know that it is connected to the receiver in 'analog' mode... you could have different play back "Audio" modes from your DVD player for the connections/stereo/multi-channels you decide to use. B /
Digital multi channel modes get more complicated between units... analog stereo mode/connections are very common between units for many many years.
Hello... Audio or "analog" is a common output and input on most devices... but with a "analog' or 'digital' Video outputs from the DVD player, things can get more complicated between the "Specs" of the inputs and outputs.
Are you also going to also send "Video" from the DVD player?
If you post for us your devices/web pages/manuals, someone can investigate farther. B /
Hello... Then just using the Analog output of the DVD player and connected to a "analog' input of the receiver then should work... you can use a 'tape/CD/DVD/SAT" input on the receiver... they will all be 'line level" inputs/outputs, Just push that Button when you want to listen to the DVD sound through it. B )
Some DVD players may have a 'digital Optical" output and some receivers have a 'digital Optical" input... special cables are needed and the 'digital communications" between the two can get complicated... along with 'multi channel" 'surround sound' needs. B /
The "analog" outputs will just give you stereo audio to your receiver... if you need Multi-channel audio you will need to get a Digital connection between the two. there is NO "Standard" between makers of DVD players and Receivers... so there are different types of communication used... so typically you want to buy the same brands of equipment's for compatibility between them. Connect A analog audio out put of latest LG DVD player to a analog audio input of my LG home theater system (old version) and video output of latest LG DVD player to the TV.
so after that i can play whatever format of audio/video via latest DVDplayer then video come through the tv and sound come through the home theater system.
