Dear fellow tinkerers,
(Before you tell me to search online for help, i have spent the last two hours trying the manuals, and searching for help online)
We got a sony android tv (KD-49X8005C[Bravia 4k 2015]) and a Samsung (HT-D550) and are having some trouble connecting them by arc. I would like all the audio to go through the Samsung home theater speakers, but cannot get it to work. I have an hdmi cable between tv and DVD(Samsung home theater), TV and cable reciever(D3mini), and Tv to laptop(extended display from laptop to tv).

Is it possible to have every single audio going into the tv to go to the Samsung speakers? I just can't get it to work. What settings do i put? what cables do i need? Do i need to connect everything differently? would it be better to use input to aux cables?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

Did not see any mention of ARC in the Samsung HTS spec sheet. You have to have ARC in both the TV and HTS and it has to be turned on in the TV menu.
Your alternative is to add an optical audio connection between the TV and HTS for sound when using the cable box or laptop (both connected to the TV with HDMI). Set the TV audio out menu to get 5.1 sound.
The HTS would also be connected to the TV with HDMI for video on disc playback.

According to the manual and settings, ARC stands for audio return channel, and I do have it in the HTS. It has two options, auto and off. So far I connected the HDMI cable to the HDMI/ARC channel on the TV, and enabled ARC on the HTS. What's the next step?
