Hi everyone,
I would like to connect my ps3 to my laptop to copy media off my ps3 as back up. Is this possible? I have hear it is possible but have not been able to find a proper tutorial of how this is done. I was hoping it would of been a simple case of plugging an hdmi cable from the ps3's hdmi output to my laptop's hdmi input. I have tried this with no response at all from my laptop. I have both my laptop and ps3 using wireless. The fact that there is no response from my laptop makes me wonder if I need drivers or something. How would I check if so? I am not that techy so I would appreciate a clear simple answer or instructions, if possible.
All help will be appreciated... Kind regards

Thank you for your comment even though it seems you have not really read the question properly. I did state that I have plugged the hdmi cable to my laptop's hdmi input - not output. 99.999% seems a little extreme and no disrespect, but if you've never tried plugging a ps3 into 0.001% of laptops, then this question is perhaps not for you. I'm looking for a simple answer to a simple question please!

What laptop do you have? And no it's not an exaggeration, most laptops don't have an input port on them, period. When you've worked on thousands of laptops and seen 2 or 3 with an HDMI input, well that's a pretty low percent.

I've also worked on over 1000 PS3's and you don't backup anything via HDMI, you do it via USB, as I told you. You obviously didn't read that part.

LMAO!!! I obviously didn't read that part, because you obviously didn't write that you don't back up anything via hdmi until now! I've already have 4 usbs full of data and I would simply like to know the answer to the question I've asked, without the hostility after only becoming a member of this site 27 minutes ago! Has I've said before if you have never tried doing this before, then this question may not be for you.
