Connecting infrared wireless headphones

How to connect infrared wireless headphones with a red and white connection to a Samsung 55" smart tv that has no bluetooth connection. It only has Optical digital or HDMI outputs for connecting to speakers

There are two options.
1. Use an optical to analog audio converter like this one

2. Use an HDMI ARC audio extractor like this one

I would use the first option.You may have to turn the optical output on, the TV speakers off, and change the audio output type in the TV menu to get it to work.

Bought the toslink box exactly as you linked me to and have tried it and it didn't work.
