Sorry about the junk posts - he's been dealt with now.

If you have an Android phone, go to Settings>Wireless and Networks>Tethering and Portable Hotspot and set up a Hotspot by giving it a name and a password. Turn it on and your computer's wi-fi adapter will "see" it. You can connect by using the password you set.

Caution - this may cost a lot in data charges.

or it may not be allowed at all; restricted by your carrier and is an extra fee if you want it activated. My AT&T is like that. {grumbles}
