Need Help,

I want to connect my laptop to sony BDV-E3100 Hometheatre though the HDMI, so i get the sound output from all the 5 speakers, and the home theatre should also be connected to TV through HDMI. The above 3 devices only have one HDMI port, How do I connect. If I get a 2 way HDMI splitter, will that work and how.?

You will need to add an HDMI switcher to the TV and connect the laptop and Sony to the TV via HDMI and also connect the audio out of the TV to the Sony so you can get sound from the laptop to the Sony.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response.
What i wanted to know is, if the laptop and hometheatre is connected to tv through hdmi, will i still need to connect the audio out of tv to sony home theatre for sound output?

The Sony home theaters have a hdmi port and the advantage is that, if you connect it with a TV having hdmi port with ARC (Audio Return Channel) the sound will be redirected to home theater. So in that case you must have min 2 HDMI ports in your TV, one to connect to your laptop and another with ARC feature for connecting the home theater.
