connecting logitech z2300 to my lg 42inch tv

i recently bought the logitech z2300 and am trying to get it connected to my tv. the issue is, the tv doesnt have a headphone jack or any connectors the wires that came with the speakers provide.

i went to best buy and bought some red/white male-to- red/white male cable thinking that would work but it doesnt seem it does.

what am i missing that i need to get this working. thanks.

What audio out connections does your TV have? Optical? If it has an optical out, you can get an adapter for that to connect the speakers to.
