Hi everyone,
I'm trying to connect my Dell Netbook to my LCD TV. I want to be able to look at the internet on the TV screen and hear the audio through the TV's speakers. I am completely clueless about this. I want to tell you what ports each one has, but I'm not sure what each of them are called, so I am going to attempt to attach some photos...

I *think* I can use a VGA cable to connect for the picture to show up. Not sure on the audio. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much and God bless.

Yeah, you'll need to use the VGA cable. For audio you'll need a 3.5mm "patch" cable. It's the cable that goes from the netbook where the headphone picture is, to the port right next to the blue VGA plug on your TV. Play whatever on your netbook, and have the TV look at the VGA connection. Your netbook will probably need you to switch the output to the VGA. Usually the Fn and some other button. I most often see F5, though it can be different. Symbol is two squares, slightly offset from each other.

Okay, thanks for your response. I finally got the cables I needed and tried it today. I can't get it to work. I have the blue screen on my TV saying no signal. I tried setting my TV to "component" and when that didn't work I set it to "PC". I tried pressing "FN" and the F8 button (that's the button on my netbook. I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Check the display settings in the laptop, make sure it sees the TV as a monitor, you may need to enable it. If you don't see it, turn it on with the TV already hooked up to it and selected to the right input, should be the PC one. Component is the multi cable input above the VGA PC input.
