Connecting two speakers to laptop/mixer

I have two 15" Ekho speakers that I want to connect either to my laptop or to my mixer. If I connected them to my laptop would I be able to just use RCA to Auxhillary cables with a Y splitter? And do I need to use XLR cables?

The speakers have unbalanced audio inputs so you just need the right cables. You don't have to use the balanced inputs. You would also get stereo (2.0) since you don't mention if you have a sub in addition. I don't think you need a splitter unless you don't have stereo outs (not likely).
