Hi Guys,

I hope someone can help me out. Im getting really annoyed by the troubles i keep having with my ASUS laptop. Recently i updated my RAM to 16gb because Photoshop kept failing.

I added the 16gb and did a clean install. Yet still it crashes and i regularly get a pop-up from windows then i need to close aps to keep it running. I checked in my task manager and it seems that my SSD is the problem.

Now i want to use a M.2 NGFF to SSD 2,5 SATA. Can someone help me with the best option to go with?

If i put a Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M.2 (PCI-e 3.0 x4) in. Would i still have the speed @ 3.200/1.500MB/s. Or is NVMe not able to convert to SATA?

There is also an m2 mini option on the motherboard. But from what i have seen these are slow. What do you guys think is the best option to make sure data writing goes as fast as possible?

Here are my specs.
Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

CPU
Intel Core i7 @ 2.60GHz 50 °C

Graphics
Intel HD Graphics 4600 (ASUStek Computer Inc)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce 940M (ASUStek Computer Inc) 49 °C

Storage
931GB Hitachi HGST HTS541010A9E680 (SATA) 27 °C
111GB Samsung SSD 840 Series (SSD) 38 °C

Solution
If the laptop has a spare PCI-e 3.0 x4 you can buy a m.2 to pcie adapter and it will work fine. If it is PCI-e 2.0 I wouldn't bother as you'll not make fill use of the 960 Evo
