I downloaded bios updates for an HP Pavilion notebook and during the process the machine was accidentally shut off. Now the machine is dead. Is there any hope. I was unable to get through to HP Support Chat???

Solution
If it's in warranty, work with HP. If out of warranty, you may need to replace the BIOS chip if it's even possible with your model. One very slim chance if you can try to reset the BIOS by pulling it's battery (you will probably need to take off the keyboard/palm rest off the laptop. Take out the main battery, unplug laptop from wall, and remove the small BIOS battery. Chances are though that the BIOS is totally dead and you will need to either replace it or the whole motherboard. Check with some repair shops or computer savvy friends to do the work.
