My speakers are a bit crackly. Anyone know how to rectify this? I have realtek integrated sound and am temporarily using Creative I-trigue 3600 speakers because my old gateway ones are in an even worse state of crackliness.

If you haven't done so, install the most recent drivers. Also, try another sound card. I had to get a Ground Loop Isolator but I'm connecting to a receiver and I don't think it should be necessay connecting to computer speakers.

First check your wires and make sure they're away from electrical power line. Lower your base and trebel. if you turn the volume down and if the issue still there, maybe you have a damage software or hardware. try reinstalling the drivers and codec. If the hardware is the problem then you may borrow a sound card to test before buying one it maybe just the speaker that can handle your settings. or maybe you just have a lose wiring. Make sure you speakers are not damage, test it with an portable MP3 player or something.
