crash to desktop sims 3

hi! i have been having this problem with sims 3 and whenever i play it i play for a good few minutes and i get to the screen where i choose my family then i either make a new save or choose a pre existing save it crashes to desktop! with no warning!! please help, thanks.

hi it doesn't give me an error message and i have a hp 15 laptop. it was running the sims 3 very fine until up to now.
