Create Keyboard Shortcuts for Apps

Keyboard shortcuts in an operating system allow you to launch applications by pressing key combinations on the keyboard. When you create a keyboard shortcut for an app, you no longer need to locate and double-click the app’s icon to launch the program, and the task can be completed by pressing the assigned keys only.

Creating keyboard shortcuts in Windows 8 is easy. Here is how:

■Log on to your Windows 8 PC with an administrative account.
■From the Start screen, click the Desktop tile.
