Ctl B suddenly quit working

I used to press ctl + b, after selecting a sentence, to bold the whole sentence. Now it doesn't work! How do I get it back?

Seriously though what software are you using to Bold with ? Microsoft Office? Apache OpenOffice? WPS Office? LibreOffice? Kingsoft Office? OnllyOffice? SSuite Office? (and the list goes on from there....)

have you tested in wordpad to bold ?

I'm not using software, just sending an email using gmail. And sometimes it makes it more readable to BOLD, UNDERLINE, OR USE ITALICS. All of these I used to do simply by holding down the control key, and pressing the appropriate key (B, U, or I). Now, it suddenly stopped working. Any ideas?

ok, goto this web site, run the app, and test your keyboard keys (all, and specifically left and right CTRL keys)
to see if they are working or it is a gmail thing (I get not able to use backspace keys in gmail sometimes... its weird.. I blame MS Edge for that)
